L’the most common mistake owners make
Buying a bed that’s too small is the number one mistake. A cramped dog can’t fully relax and eventually avoids its bed. Too large, and it loses its sense of security. The ideal size can be measured.
How to measure your dog correctly
Have your dog lie down in its favorite sleeping position. Measure:
- Length: from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail
- Width: at the widest point (shoulders or hips)
Then add 15 to 20 cm to each measurement.
DodoDog size guide by weight
- S (up to 7 kg) — Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier, Maltese, Bichon Frise
- M (7 to 15 kg) — Beagle, Cocker Spaniel, French Bulldog
- L (15 to 25 kg) — Border Collie, Husky, Boxer
- XL (25 to 40 kg) — Labrador, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd
- XXL (40 kg and over) — Rottweiler, Newfoundland, Great Dane
Large breeds need proper support
A 35 kg Labrador on an M bed will have its paws hanging over the edge — putting strain on its shoulders and hips all night. For large breeds, don’t hesitate: choose XL or XXL in high-density memory foam.
